Staff & Pseudo-Staff
Admin
The Admin is the founder of FS, and the person who is ultimately responsible for advertising, upholding the rules and maintaining the site. Though this individual should also be an active poster, don’t be surprised if they log on and appear to do little else; a fair amount of this role is conducted in the background.
Moderator
Moderators are essentially aids to the Admin; they help manage boards and uphold the rules, and have access to most thread moderation options. Whilst they are free to use their own judgement in some areas, they are also expected to adhere to a set disciplining policy, and to take more major matters to the admin.
Clan Leader
The ‘Clan Leader’ position is given to every member that plays one of the four clan leaders, and remains with them until such a time as their leader dies, retires or is banished. They are charged with keeping other staff up-to-date with their clan’s affairs and ‘reminding’ staff to update the clan-specific bulletins, as well as keeping up with their clans part in plots.
Member Ranks & Bonuses
Member ranks are based on post count and automated so that all members will move ‘up’ a rank as soon as they hit the lowest figure for the next ranks post count bracket. Their primary function is to encourage and reward activity; a task that is achieved via a bonus system. This system has been set to pay a static rank-specific figure into each members ‘bank’, plus a further 10% of each members post count. In other words, a ‘Kit’ with 1 post will receive 0.1SP a week, whilst a ‘Kit’ with 49 posts will receive 4.9SP a week. Similarly, an ‘Apprentice’ with 50 posts will receive the ranks static 5SP and a further 5SP, whilst one with 99 posts will receive 5SP and an additional 9.9SP.
All new members are listed as kits until they hit their 50th post, at which point they become ‘Apprentices’. Eventually, should an individual be active enough, they will reach the rank of Ancestor – the most ‘senior’ of the member ranks, and the one with the highest baseline SP bonus. This, like all other ranks, also comes alongside an additional 10% bonus (based on actual post count), so that members continue to be rewarded for activity.
Whilst this system is fully automated, please note that it is also within the admins power to adjust post count, and thus rank and bonus. This will only be done in the event of spamming or abuse of the system, so assuming you use it correctly, your post count and bonus should be left as is.
Notes:
- Bonuses are not handed out on set days. Instead, an automated seven-day timer is set when a member posts, and the bonus is provided once this ‘deadline’ has been passed.
- Please be aware that the plugin only provides these bonuses upon posting.
- Please also be aware that timers are unique to each member, and based on their activity levels.
- The system is set up in a way that allows staff and psudo-staff to earn the same bonuses as the member rank that corresponds to their post count. Staff and psudo-staff do not earn additional bonuses.
