Introduction
As stated in the main rules, FS apprentices are [usually] obtainable through roleplay only, and then only if the mentor list contains available mentors for the kits clan. This thread has been created to provide an overview of the regulations concerning in-character kit-to-warrior ascension at FS. For the sake of completeness, it also details the criteria that we would like fulfilled prior to kits becoming apprentices, or apprentices becoming kits, though these are not required.
These regulations, and the apprentice ‘ban’ itself, exist to prevent FS filling up with mentor-less apprentices. In effect this rank has been made a ‘limited’ position, in that a mentor must be available before kits can undergo their ceremonies. Given this, clear rules have been deigned necessary to ensure that those members who own apprentices are both active and likely to play these cats through to their warrior ceremonies. Apprentice-to-warrior rules, meanwhile, have been put into place to ensure that apprentices will be roleplayed, and also to clarify when these cats should and shouldn’t be progressed to warrior status.
To apply for a kit-to-apprentice or apprentice-to-warrior progression please PM Greymuzzles the appropriate form [below] and ensure that the topic contains the title 'In-character Progression. Once your application has been received the cat in question will be checked to ensure it meets all criteria, and, if you are successful, you, your clan leader, and your characters mentor will be notified. It will then be the responsibility of you, your leader, and your mentor to arrange and carry out the appropriate ceremony.
Please note that leaders can also apply for a kit-to-apprentice or apprentice-to-warrior progression on behalf of the cat's owner, and the process for these applications will be much the same as above. However, a cat's warrior name will not be decided without the owners input, and the applicable ceremony not held until the owner is ready progress their character.
